What are the system requirements?

Paint Project Studio requires macOS 14.0 or later. The app is optimized for modern Mac systems and supports both Intel and Apple Silicon processors.

How do I create a new project?

To create a new project, go to File > New Project or press ⌘N. You'll be prompted to select a reference image (PNG, JPEG, or GIF format). Your project will be saved as a .pmr file.

How do I pick colors from an image?

After loading a image, click anywhere on the image to pick colors. Selected colors are automatically added to your color swatches. You can view and manage all picked colors in the color swatches panel.

How do I save my project?

Save your project using File > Save (⌘S) or File > Save As (⇧⌘S). Projects are automatically saved as you work. Projects are saved in the .pmr format, which is a package containing your images, color data, and notes.

How do I load an existing project?

Go to File > Load Project or press ⌘L. You can also browse projects from the Project Gallery view. Projects are displayed as thumbnails showing the main reference image.

What image formats are supported?

Paint Project Studio supports PNG, JPEG, and GIF formats for reference images. You can load multiple reference images per project for comparison and analysis.

How do I use the grid overlay tool?

The grid overlay helps with precise measurements and alignment. The default grid size is 60px, and you can adjust it using the grid controls. Grid settings are saved per reference image in your project.

Can I export my project?

Yes! Export your project to PDF using File > Export to PDF or press ⌘P. The PDF includes all your reference images, color swatches, and notes in a professional format.

What is the trial period?

Paint Project Studio offers a 14-day free trial from first launch. During the trial, you can explore all features. After the trial expires, you'll need to purchase the full version to continue using the app.

How do I purchase the full version?

Go to Paint Project Studio > Purchase Full Version from the menu bar, or click the purchase button when prompted. The full version unlocks unlimited color swatches, advanced grid customization, and all premium features.

How do I restore my purchase?

If you've previously purchased the app, go to Paint Project Studio > Restore Purchases from the menu bar. This will restore your purchase status if you reinstall the app or use it on a different Mac.

Where are my projects saved?

Projects are saved in the location you choose when saving. You can select a projects directory in the app, and all projects will be organized there. The app remembers your last selected directory for easy access.

Can I add notes to my project?

Yes! Use the Notes view to document design decisions, color choices, and any other information about your project. Notes are saved with your project and included in PDF exports.
